14. Democracy Not Autocracy Campaign 2024

 Dear Democracy Not Autocracy Supporters,

I have long believed that we must take a more forceful stand in support of democracy and against corruption in Pennsylvania and across America. It is clear that we are in a fight between democracy and autocracy. This recent post from Thom Hartmann's Free Daily Newsletter has pushed me to take action to 'stand up 4 the democracy we want in 2023 and beyond!'

Suggestions:
1. We need educated citizens who are aware of the political history of democracy  in our country. To that end, I encourage you to sign up for and read Thom Hartmann's Free Daily Newsletter ! Thom is a well known historian and author who discusses today's political events with insights into related history of why they are happening and what we can do about it.

2. We must remind everyone of the moral issues involved in the democracy vs autocracy debate. Therefore, we should stand up against those spewing hate and fear. A good way to do that is with 'Democracy Not Autocracy' bumper stickers, etc.

3. We need to support the growing Democracy Not Autocracy movement. I plan to use my 1st Monday Good Government PA Monthly Update email to discuss what the 'democracy we want' might look like. Page 13 of this website has that list.  There are individuals and groups working on this now. One such group is Fair Districts PA and their Fix Harrisburg CampaignUUJusticePALeague of Women Voters PA, and March on Harrisburg are some other groups working on this issue. We need to encourage these groups to unite for a once or twice a year rally/march in Harrisburg in support of a Democracy Not Autocracy agenda.

4. We need to confront our national economic inequality problems as shown in this video (6). We have to say no to 'trickle down economics'  We have known for 40 years that it does not work and this video (6) discusses why. Also, Inequality.org has a weekly newsletter that looks at America's extreme economic inequality problems.
